Abstract

Kendari City inflation in October 2018 was recorded at 0.16 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 128.23. Nationally, of 82 cities that calculated inflation for 66 cities recorded inflation and 16 cities recorded deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Palu (Central Sulawesi Province) 2.27 percent and the lowest inflation was recorded in Cilegon (Banten Province) 0.01 percent.
Inflation in Kendari City was caused by an increase in the price index in the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.88 percent; food ingredients 0.37 percent; health 0.32 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.23 percent; Transport, communication and financial services 0.08 percent. The clothing group experienced deflation of 1.65 percent. While the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes / were relatively stable.
Commodities contributing to inflation are skipjack / scales, bloating / bloating / banyar / gembolo / asoaso, noodles, long beans, gasoline, rice, rice with side dishes, concrete iron, mustard greens, and spinach.
